"Blueberry Island" - Original Painting
Blueberry Island is a gentle tribute to quiet moments on the lake — a red canoe floating on the calm waters of Georgian Bay, surrounded by the stillness of nature. I was drawn to paint this scene for its simplicity and serenity, capturing the feeling of peaceful escape that only time on the water can bring.
As I neared completion, I shared a progress photo, and a family member told me it brought her fond memories of canoe trips with her late husband near Blueberry Island. I named the painting to honour this memory of hers, hoping it would carry a sense of that same love wherever it goes. May it bring you, too, to the peaceful hush of the lake — where time slows, and beauty gently unfolds.
